San Antonio Pool Management was founded by The Pool Management Group executive leadership team in 2001.

Leadership

Ed Carroll
President and General Manager

Ed has spent a lot of time around swimming pools. He has been a Lifeguard, Regional Director at Greater Houston Pool Management, and an Aquatic Facility Operator with the State College School District as well as Aquatic Director at Centre Region Parks & Recreation in State College, Pennsylvania. Ed attended Pennsylvania State University and ran cross country, indoor & outdoor track. He became General Manager of San Antonio Pool Management in September of 2002. He enjoys this opportunity to continue working with young adults in developing career building skills. He and his wife Barbi, have two sons, TJ & Bryce and one daughter, McKinsay.

Deidre Casey
Human Resource Director/Office Manager

Deidre began her career in aquatics with San Antonio Pool Management as a part-time lifeguard in 2004, after graduating with Honors from Texas Lutheran University, where she played basketball and ran outdoor track, while representing her university on the ASC Student-Athlete Advisory Council. The following summer, as a graduate student at Texas State University – San Marcos, she was promoted to a pool manager role at one of the San Antonio Pool Management facilities. In spring 2006, she took over the Human Resources Director and Office Manager position. She completed her Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling in 2008, and enjoys working with young people to assist them in capitalizing on their leadership qualities and personal strengths in a manner that promotes team-building. She enjoys live music, a passion sparked by her parents Carol and Tom, and floating the river with friends and family. Her two younger sisters, Amanda and Shelbi, have also worked in varying capacities for San Antonio Pool Management.

Paul Merritt
Director of Operations

Paul’s experience with pools is quite extensive, beginning in 1985 with Sunray Pool Chemical Co. He spent 4 years working in the residential sector, and was promoted to a supervisory role for his last 2 years. In 1989 Paul went to work for Central Distributors as an inside sales rep. After two years he was promoted to the Warehouse and Shipping Supervisor. In 1995 he moved to Custom Forest Products, where he worked as the Inventory and Warehouse Manager until 1999. At that time, Paul started his own business, Merritt General Construction. Throughout this time, he also gained experience in pool construction and maintenance while contracting with Flash Pools and Clark Pool and Spa. He joined the San Antonio Pool Management team in 2008 as the Regional Director, and has recently been promoted to Director of Operations. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of varying life and occupational skills with young lifeguards, as they develop their own unique lifestyles. His son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Nichole, have two sons, Aiden and Holden.
